The Shoebook : Website Design

The client needed a website solution that would help it stand head and shoulders above the competition. We worked with the client to produce a top-flight site with industry appeal.

The Challenge

The client was looking to create an industry directory for the shoe and accessories professionals market. The site had to excel in design, functionality and usefulness for its intended user base of footwear retailers and designers. Additionally, the design had to encompass all the brand attributes of fashion-forward thinking, up-to-date trends and modern design. The code had to be search-engine friendly and easily interfaced with via a 3rd-party Content Management System (CMS).

The Solution

Working in concert with the client and 3rd-party CMS provider, we created a design solution that centered around searchability and product listings. All design elements catered to the needs of the products featured in the directory. Bold colors and modern design elements were utilized to differentiate it from the competition, who trended towards classical design components and dated color palettes.

The Results

The minimal, open layout allowed for easier visual navigation for the end-user, which resulted in high click-through rates for the client. Calls-to-action were also placed in key portions of the site to drive subscriptions and to create additional content for the directory.
