DIRECTV : "Charter" Ad Banner Campaign

The client needed to translate a print ad campaign into an animated online campaign. We took what they had and came up with a "flashy" solution.

The Challenge

The client was running a national ad campaign against a rival service provider. At the time they only had a print campaign in place and needed that print campaign translated for use online. The print ads were designed to take full advantage of the print medium and were never intended for animation. The client wanted to convey the campaign's message along with the energy and excitement that the brand represented.

The Solution

We used Flash Actionscript to maximize animation possibilities while maintaining image integrity and filesize (in accordance with Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) guidelines). We translated all three directions from the print ad campaign and were able to create visually engaging ad banners. Fast transitional elements were used in-line with existing brand guidelines to create visually interesting solutions.

The Results

We were able to create a complimentary online campaign to mirror the print ad campaign the client was already using. The ad banners ran smoothly and were well within IAB guidelines.
